BWSF Takes Youth to 2024 US Open Tennis Net Generation On Court Experience in NY

8/30/2024: Road Trip! Black Women in Sport Foundation in New York @ US Open for the United States Tennis Association - USTA (Official) Net Generation Kids On Court Experience!  

Our awesome kids had a rare opportunity to showcase our program on court at the 2024 US Open and play before the pros play!  Our youth showcased basic red ball tennis playing skills rallying back and forth with one another on court while the crowd cheered them on. 

One of our youth leaders, Sanaa, had the honor of tossing the coin for the Women's Doubles 2nd Round professional match that followed our on-court demo.  

Other exciting experiences at the US Open were the educational zone with the Court of Champions, a kids play zone, and watching professional tennis matches and practice sessions. However, the highlights were new friends, laughter, and the gelato!  

Thank you to the dedicated BWSF Board, USTA Middle States, our tireless BWSF chaperones, community program partners Bringing Everybody (BET), Laura Sims Skatehouse, & Lakeway Tennis Association, and all of our supporters who helped make this awesome experience possible for our youth!!
